Day 131 — Beautiful Burgtheater
11-December-1971 (Sat.)

Vienna Burgtheater

Electronic music day and letter. Still not finished with the letter. As for our electronic music, it was extremely difficult getting our desired results in our methods of patching.

Went to first performance in the Burgtheater, a beautiful theater. Saw “Veh dem, der lïgt” (Sorry is the man that lies). Was an excellent production, very funny and enjoyable. With the help of the program, I find that I am doing extremely well in following the German. Not the best, though.

Electronic music. Still working in the electronic music lab and class. My “letter home” is still on my mind. Looking back, I don’t see why I was so enthralled by this project. I can guess that I was so proud of my new “electronic music techniques,” such as splicing, that I wanted to impress everyone. Really? Not sure. I probably thought it would be cool. It looks like the class projects were not as good today. That’s fine. Can’t be wonderful all the time.

Burgtheater. I’m glad I finally made it to the Burgtheater to see some theater. The Burgtheater (see photo above) is one of the premiere theaters in Europe. It is absolutely gorgeous and includes a grand staircase entryway. I am not entirely certain that I had the title of the play right in the journal, but I hope it’s close. My understanding of German, with the help of the program, seems to be improving. That’s good.
