188 — A Little Bit

TRANSCRIPT
Practiced about four hours. Enough. Spend rest of the
day catching up on work. I seem to be getting some
progress made in the languages because I’ve been
spending a little time every
day studying.
REFLECTIONS
Every
Day. In
transcribing this journal, I haven’t always been
putting in the underlines, italics, or “****” that
indicate some emphasis to myself on what I thought
was important at the time of writing. But today, I’m
going to do it. I underlined the word “every”
—see, every!
The key to learning is to “do” and “do it again”
(repetition). I’m not saying memorization, but
doing.
There I go again!
If I want to learn French, what will get me better
results, doing a little bit of French every day, or
once a week?
Lifelong
learning. The
challenge is to find the time and the energy to
continue to learn and do things through your entire
life. Once you have a full-time job, marriage,
children, and all the responsibilities of life—it
gets tougher to do the extra things you want to
do—like learn a language. Thank goodness we have
Rosetta Stone, today. (A commercial joke, I haven’t
purchased it yet because it is very expensive.)
