128 — My first “thunder-snow”
08-December-1971
(Wed.)
TRANSCRIPT
A feirertag.
Had our first “thunder-snow”… ?? It started to rain,
and then snow, and suddenly, lighting and thunder.
I’ve been having so many firsts
here.
Amazing.
Saw Othello. Very dramatic and a little “heavy.” A
lot depended on knowing the dialogue. But it was
enjoyable. Music wasn’t bad.
REFLECTIONS
Today is a holiday.
Thunder-snow.
What the
heck is a thunder-snow? Well, surprisingly, it’s a
snow storm with thunder. To this day, in 2007, I
don’t remember any other time when there was thunder
during a snow storm. I am still amazed at how many
“firsts” I have had during this year. I must have led
a sheltered and naïve life. Actually, I was always
working. Still am.
Othello.
Based
on
Shakespeare's
play, the
opera Othello
didn't
sound like it was an easy listen to me in 1971. I
don't mention the composer of the opera, thus, it
could have been written by either Gioacchino
Rossini (1816) or Giuseppe Verdi (1887). Better
not to comment.
