Nothing new.
Saw Milan Horvat conduct. Not bad. Shostakovich.
First Symphony. I always thought he was in the
traditional school, but he is very interesting and is
an interesting bridge to contemporary music.
REFLECTIONS
Shostakovich.
Today
is Symphony
No. 1 from
Dmitri Shostakovich. I learn that Shostakovich,
although often traditional, has leanings towards
contemporary music. His compositional style often
shows influences of different and eclectic musical
styles. Quick-shifting tonal harmonies is another
signature trait. Below are some links, including an
