Day
45 — Starting over; photos arrive; social networks
16-September-1971
(Thur.)
TRANSCRIPT
Typical day.
Starting from scratch on the horn. New embouchure.
But very frustrating. Very slow. Never sure of
exactly what I have to do. Well, try again.
REFLECTIONS
Starting
over. I make a
decision to start over with my horn playing
technique, specifically, trying to change my
embouchure. Looking back, I’m never certain that my
embouchure was all that bad, but I probably felt that
my embouchure (position of my lips against the
mouthpiece) was not perfect. If I could get it to be
perfect, I should be able to play perfectly. Right?
As with all change, it can be frustrating, slow, and
cause uncertainty.
I try to encourage myself to keep trying.
Slide
scans arrive. The scans
of my 35mm slides arrived a couple of days ago. It
was a bit expensive, but worth it. The photo
service,
DigMyPics.com, did a
great job with the scans. I hope to populate past
and future blog posts with pictures.
Social
networks. I haven’t
yet begun any marketing attempt on this blog. I
wanted to wait for the pictures. Slowly, I will join
some of the popular social networking sites and see
if they will generate any visits to the website. I
started with Facebook. I have
no friends. It seems
that Facebook may be fine for interacting with
friends you already have. No sure about the marketing
potential.
I just installed Google Analytics to collect
page-view stats.
