221 — Disco at the Voom-Voom
10-March-1972
(Freitag–Fri.)
TRANSCRIPT
About the same as yesterday. However, did a little
less. Went to Prof. C’s class today. Better than
usual.
To live it up went to Voom-Voom diskotek. Despite the
fact that I was out of place—comparatively short
hair, I enjoyed watching and hearing the music. The
girls seemed somewhat difficult to approach, and I
“struck out.” They seemed to wait for friends.
Anyway, the “lustig” part of the whole deal was when
a small group of guys just went wild and started
dancing by themselves, also a few girls. I think more
people were dancing by themselves than in couples. It
was a great feeling though to see them having a good
time.
REFLECTIONS
Voom-Voom.
I like the
name. This is the second time I’ve been to the
Voom-Voom Diskotek since I’ve been in Vienna. The
first time, during my first few days in Vienna, when
I was oogling over bra-less mädchens. Not this time.
Tonight I’m out to meet girls and, of course, I
strike out. What happened to all this charm that I
exuded during my skiing vacations? Must have
disappeared. Truthfully, I was never good (my entire
life) at meeting girls in bars.
It seems that I enjoyed the music and watching
people—guys and girls—dance by themselves. Why didn’t
I dance by myself?
