326 — Leaving—no, still in Vienna
23-Jun-1972
(Fri.)
TRANSCRIPT
[1st entry in Journal #2]
To backtrack a day:
I was supposed to leave on the 22nd but I was being
pretty stupid and I convinced myself that 22:00 was
12:00, when it was really 10:00. So after saying
goodbye to everyone at the café, I only arrived 2
hours later for the train.
So the next day—the 23rd—I spent seeing a few museums
and doing nothing. Bad news. Pavel failed his
audition.
Well, finally left on the train.
REFLECTIONS
Journal
#2. As I
mentioned, I am now using the second journal from
1972, as the first one was filled up. As I remember,
on the last page of journal #1, I said, “I’m leaving
for Poland.”
What
happened? On the
22nd, I’m apparently at a café saying goodbye to
friends. Then head on home and to the train station,
only to find out that I missed the train. Nice going,
John. Mr. College Graduate. So, I spend today, the
23rd, in museums until it’s time to go. I’m fairly
certain that 22:00 is 10:00 pm. I hope.
Leaving
for Poland. Really.
Today, I go.
John
