Saw
Marriage of Figaro. Delightful, as most
Mozart music is.
Took some pictures for Mike.
REFLECTIONS
Mozart’s
nozze. Today, I
saw Mozart’s
Le nozze de Figaro (The
Marriage of Figaro). (Nose) = nozze = marriage. If
you’re ever hob-knobbing with maestros, divas, and
tenors at a cocktail party after the opera, this line
will be an ice breaker—“I enjoyed the recent
production of
The Nose of Figaro.” It will
get you a laugh, perhaps. The entire crowd may even
hush. You may never get another invite to a party,
however…
Mozart
delight. Just
joking, don’t do it. Bad humor aside (above),
Mozart’s opera,
The Marriage of Figaro is
delightful.
Wikipedia tells
us that
the opera was once banned in Vienna for satirizing
the aristocracy. What, no humor? Can’t take a
ribbing? Powdered wigs in an uproar? Thankfully,
today, everyone enjoys this opera of Mozart. It is
one of his most popular operas and a standard of
opera houses.
Mozart is one of Vienna’s favorite sons and is highly
honored in the city.
Long hair. Notice my hair—it’s long and thick. I haven’t had a haircut since I’ve been in Vienna. Let’s see, it’s Day 096 of the blog. How long has it been since I haven’t had a haircut? At least 96 days. I also wore this thin little coat and scarf that I bought locally. I am not prepared for winter.
Read 36yearsago on your iPhone. It just so happens that the narrow width of the blog page is an almost perfect fit for reading on Apple’s iPhone. Bookmark the Blog page and the Daily Listing page. When 36yearsago loads into the iPod, you then pinch to zoom out, just a little. Resize to match the text in the blog column to the width of the iPod. It is very readable. Then flick down as you read. Downloads are acceptable in a wi-fi area, and somewhat slower on AT&T’s Edge network (use the Daily listing page when slower).
Let’s see, how many readers of this blog have an iPhone? A few, I believe. However, I am blogging for the future when perhaps thousands of readers and hundreds of iPhones will be perusing our pages.
The above should also work on the iPod touch as well, only in wi-fi areas.
See you tomorrow.
John
