Day 110
— Theater—Meine Angemessene Dame
20-November-1971
(Sat.)
TRANSCRIPT
Saw
My Fair Lady, the musical, but in
German. It was in the Theater-in-Wien, a very
beautiful theater. It was very enjoyable and a good
production, except that the professor didn’t sing as
well.
It was interesting to hear the familiar songs but
with German words. “With a little bit of love” was
something like “mit a …schwickenwik,” which sounded
very corny. Well, anyway, I’ll have to see more
musicals.
Saw my slides of Baden—some really beautiful
pictures, also some corny ones of me that Mike took,
while I was taking pictures for him. My favorite
publicity picture—me with my horn with Mozart in the
background.
REFLECTIONS
Meine
Angemessene Dame. That’s
My Fair Lady in German.
I’m fairly certain that this was an actual theater
production and not a movie. The songs were sung in
German. Funny to hear when you’re used to English. As
always, it’s enjoyable to see live performances of
any musical venue.
